collage play with crowabout week 5

crowabout week 5, originally uploaded by mainer at heart06.

using some of the cool techniques i learned from (the amazing!) misty‘s fab workshop a few weeks ago here (i can’t say enough of that marvel of a place!), i created this collage using blog sista nance‘s elements for this week’s challenge in her flickr group.

i’ve got dress forms or project runway or BOTH, hehehe, on the brain.  i really am digging the idea of using unexpected things to make them look like garments of some kind…just like they do on project runway.  really forces you to think outside the box. 🙂

since yesterday’s enchanting ball, i’ve been also working on more pretties which i hope to share soon.  according to my dashboard, i’m only 4 more away from my 1000th (!!!) post. omg, lol!   i’m thinking a cool giveaway involving one of my dress form assemblages may be in order…so stay tuned! 🙂

welp, the dh decided to nix the chi-town roadtrip this weekend.  his brother came up to visit so we are playing host & hostess this weekend.  next weekend is (can’t believe it, already?!) our wedding anniversary.  we usually like to getaway for the weekend to celebrate *us*…

anyhoo, i gotta scoot into town this afternoon to run some errands.   hope you are having a relaxing holiday (for us yanks) weekend wherever you are in this small world of ours. xo mary ann

p.s., i almost forgot, lol!  how do you like the new blogskin?  it’s one of the stock choices on wordpress, but i thought i was due for a change…something different with the sidebar on the right side.  🙂
