surf’s up

water is the prompt for CaC‘s photo thursday

i so miss the sounds of the crashing surf, the gulls, the lobstah boats & oh, the undeniable scent of salt air.  summah in maine…it is HEAVEN on earth.

presently landlocked in cheeseland somehow doesn’t have that same connotation…

this snap was taken at pemaquid point when i was in maine last summer. it is one of my fave spots to go.  there is a well-photographed & oft-visited lighthouse. i’ve taken many a family & friends there.   but it is the water that continually draws me there.  it is mesmerizing; an awesome, powerful sight to behold.  i could just lay on the rocks & be lulled into a blissful slumber.  just. like .that.  it is that serene.

summer in maine  + water = joy

it doesn’t get any simpler than that.

  1. This is so amazing!! I have never been to Maine, but if Mike and I wind up in Raleigh, we’ll be close enough to go for sure!!! This photo makes me long for the ocean!!

  3. I love Maine’s beaches. I have a great memory of being there in college. My roommate was from Waterville and we went to visit. I remember how beautiful it was and how we were in bathing suits but the water was around 50 degrees. Being a FL girl, I couldn’t have been more confused! LOL! Great photo. xoxo, Fran

  4. I love the ocean. The sounds of the ocean hitting the rocks can be sooo relaxing. I understand missing it. 🙂 Thanks for sharing this with us!
